The International Cricket Council has announced the schedule for the T20 World Cup.
The tournament will kick off with the Round 1 Group B match between hosts Oman and Papua New Guinea at 2 pm local time on October 17, with Scotland and Bangladesh, the other Group B teams, colliding in the match of late at 6 pm.
Ireland, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Namibia, which make up Group A, will be in action in Abu Dhabi the following day, with Round 1 matches running until October 22. The top two teams in each group will advance to the Super12 phase of the tournament, starting on October 23.
