ICC T20 World Cup Schedule 2021 Team, Venue, Point Table,FAQ
After a long wait, the ICC announced that the ICC T20 World Cup would take place in India from October to November 2021. Last year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was postponed due to COVID-19 and India had the opportunity to host the eighth edition of the contest as planned. But the suspension of IPL 2021 has put the ICC T20 2021 World Cup in doubt, as India is severely affected by the second wave of Covid-19.
The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) is scrambling to finalize the T20 2021 World Cup schedule, which is expected to be scheduled for October-November. As a result of Covid-19’s second wave, the BCCI will likely have to host the T20 World Cup somewhere else if the situation does not improve.
According to reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will make the final decision on the T20 World Cup in July 2021. However, the BCCI is confident that this situation will be resolved soon and the World Cup will take place in India according to plan.
The seventh edition of the ICC Men’s World Cup T20 was previously scheduled to take place in Australia from October 18 to November 15, 2020, but was later postponed due to the Covid19 pandemic. ICC announced that Australia will host the eighth edition of the tournament in 2022.

According to a report from ADN, officials from the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) had held a Special General Meeting (SGM) on May 29, 2021 to discuss the tournament. Rajiv Shukla, Vice President of BCCI, is very optimistic to host the tournament in India as an event four to five months from now. As well, BCCI received permission from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to hold a virtual meeting on June 28, 2021, where they will decide how to proceed.
However, the BCCI has initiated the relocation of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 from India. Now if this global cricket event moves outside of India, the United Arab Emirates is the most preferred option. In fact, last year, the 2020 IPL was also held in UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic scenario in the country. Aside from the United Arab Emirates, the backup options are Oman, with Muscat being fourth, in addition to the three venues that will be used during the World Cup.
According to an Inside Sport report, a senior board official said: “Yes, the BCCI, during the ICC board meeting, formally asked for a four-week window to take one last call but internally they said it would. They would like to retain the host rights and I would not mind if the tournament is held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. ”
Furthermore, he reported that if the IPL ends by October 10, 2021, then the UAE stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 may start in November. This will allow three weeks for the fields to be set up for the world event. Meanwhile, the first week can be celebrated in Oman.
IPL 2021 was postponed early last month to ensure the safety of players and other stakeholders amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. According to an ANI report, the remaining IPL 2021 matches will take place in the United Arab Emirates between September 19, 2021 and October 15, 2021.
