Virat Kohli will seek to finish his long wait and that of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy when the last edition of the league begins this month. The thirteenth edition of the league begins on March 29 with the defending champions of the Mumbai Indians closing horns against Chennai Super Kings at the opening of the tournament at Wankhede Stadium.
The Royal Challengers continue to be the low-performing perennials in the league. Since the beginning of the league in 2008, they have always boasted an alignment full of stars. However, they have rarely managed to meet expectations. As of now, they are one of the only three teams that have never won the IPL.
The Royal Challengers reached the final three times but ended up on the wrong side of the result on all occasions. Its performance in recent years has been worse. Since they reached the final in 2016, they have not progressed before the league stage. In the last three seasons, they finished in the bottom twice, while on the other occasion, they finished in sixth place in the eight-team competition.
But the Bangalore-based team is leaning to win the title once again thanks to its star-lined lineup consisting of people like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. They look new, as well as a new backroom staff with former Australian hitter Simon Katich as head coach.
As the tournament gets closer and closer, broadcasters have begun to excite fans by launching a series of interesting commercials. Recently, Rohit Sharma was seen in a commercial of this type and now Virat Kohli has starred in another commercial.
IPL 2020 mera hoga
In the commercial, you could see Virat Kohli questioning a man who mistakenly plays a video in which a man says “13 Kya Hoga Kohliya”. With a newspaper vendor cap and a long coat, Kohli hilariously attracted the man to himself before saying, “I live IPL 13 mere Hoga re”. The Royal Challengers captain also promised that something new will happen this season that hasn’t happened so far.
